The bizarre St Andrews tradition of raisin.. ☁️

The University of St Andrews prides itself on its traditions. One such tradition is Raisin Weekend..

Raisin Weekend is the culmination of a period of mentoring by ‘academic families’. Older students adopt younger students as their ‘academic children’ and guide them through the start of their St Andrews journey. During Raisin Weekend, academic children are entertained by their families and are encouraged to play games and pranks with each other and generally have fun. On Raisin Monday, academic children dress up, often in flamboyant costumes, and are let loose on lower college lawn for an enormous shaving foam fight. This took place today!
